What lip fillers treat
Lip fillers can enhance, restore or rebalance the lips. Your physician plans the shape around your face rather than a fixed template.
- Thin or naturally small lips
- Volume loss with ageing
- Undefined lip border
- Upper and lower lip imbalance
- Left-right asymmetry
- Fine vertical lines around the mouth
If your upper lip looks long or flat, consider lip lift fillers. A balanced lower face may also benefit from chin fillers.
How lip fillers work
Lip fillers use a soft, flexible HA filler that moves naturally when you talk and smile. Small amounts placed in the body of the lip add volume, while threads of filler along the vermilion border can sharpen definition. Hyaluronic acid also attracts water, so lips often look smoother and more hydrated.
Your physician considers your lip proportions, teeth and smile before injecting. A natural plan often adds less volume than expected, and a second, small session can build gradually if you want more. Because the lips have many blood vessels, injection technique and anatomy knowledge matter, and HA filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. For lines around the mouth, the doctor may also discuss Botox.
Your treatment day
- Shape planning Your physician studies your lip proportions and smile and agrees a natural shape with you.
- Numbing Topical anaesthetic is applied for about 20 minutes in your private room.
- Injection Small amounts of filler are placed in the lips with a fine needle or cannula, checking symmetry throughout.
- Cooling and aftercare A cold pack eases swelling, you review the result and receive aftercare advice.

Lip Fillers FAQ
Do lip fillers hurt?
The lips are sensitive, so some discomfort is expected. Numbing cream and lidocaine in the filler keep it manageable for most patients.
How long do lip fillers last?
Results typically last 6–12 months. Lips move constantly, so filler breaks down faster here than in other areas.
Will my lips look overdone?
Your physician plans proportions to suit your face and usually starts conservatively. More can be added later if you wish.
Can I fly home after lip fillers?
Flying is usually fine the next day. Swelling may be more visible for a few days, so plan photos accordingly.
Lip fillers or a lip flip?
Filler adds volume and shape, while a toxin lip flip slightly rolls the upper lip outward without adding volume. Some patients combine both.
How much do lip fillers cost?
Cost depends on how much filler you need. Message us on WhatsApp at +82 10 6463 5532 for a personalised quote.
What are the side effects?
Swelling, bruising and tenderness are common and usually settle within a week. Small lumps, cold sore flare-ups and rare vascular complications can occur, and HA filler can be dissolved if needed.
