How Restylane works
Restylane gels are made of hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in skin that binds water. Stabilised HA is cross-linked so it lasts for months rather than days. Different manufacturing methods give some products a firmer gel that holds shape for lifting and contour, and others a softer, more flexible gel that moves naturally in the lips and around the mouth.
Your physician selects the product for each area and injects it with a fine needle or blunt cannula. As genuine, verified products are used at correct dosages, results look natural and settle within two weeks. The body gradually breaks the HA down, and hyaluronidase can dissolve it sooner if needed.
