What stem cell skin therapy treats
This treatment is used to improve overall skin quality rather than to change facial shape. It is most often chosen for skin that looks tired, thin or slow to recover.
- Dull, uneven skin tone
- Fine lines and early ageing changes
- Rough texture and enlarged-looking pores
- Dehydrated, fragile skin
- Recovery support after laser or microneedling
- Mild atrophic acne scarring, as part of a combined plan
For textural scarring it is usually paired with RF microneedling, and patients comparing regenerative options often also look at exosome treatment.
How stem cell skin therapy works
Cosmetic stem cell products used for skin are usually stem-cell-derived conditioned media: the growth factors, cytokines and proteins released by cultured cells, rather than live cells themselves. These signalling molecules are thought to encourage fibroblast activity, collagen production and a calmer, better-hydrated skin barrier.
Because these molecules penetrate intact skin poorly, the product is typically delivered through tiny channels made by microneedling or a fractional laser, or placed with fine injections. Our physicians select the delivery method based on your skin assessment, and often combine it with treatments such as skin rejuvenation programmes. Research in aesthetics is promising but still evolving, so we set realistic expectations at consultation.
Your treatment day
- Consultation and skin analysis Your physician reviews your skin, medical history and goals, often using Mark-Vu II diagnostic imaging.
- Cleansing and numbing The skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied if microneedling or injections are planned.
- Delivery of the product The stem-cell-derived product is applied through microchannels or injected in small amounts across the treatment area.
- Soothing and aftercare A calming mask or serum is applied, and you receive written aftercare instructions before leaving your private room.
Results timeline
Changes are gradual because the treatment works with your skin's own renewal cycle.

Stem cell therapy vs. other regenerative options
Several regenerative treatments target skin quality, each with a different mechanism.

Stem Cell Therapy FAQ
Does stem cell skin therapy use live stem cells?
Most cosmetic skin products use stem-cell-derived conditioned media, which contains growth factors and proteins released by cultured cells, not live cells. Your physician will explain exactly which product is used for your plan.
Is stem cell therapy for skin painful?
Discomfort depends on the delivery method. With numbing cream, microneedling or fine injections usually feel like light pricking or warmth, and most patients tolerate it well.
How many sessions will I need?
A course of 3–5 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart is typical. Some patients notice a glow after one session, but changes in texture build over a course.
Can I fly home after treatment?
Yes, most patients can fly within a day or two. Keep the skin hydrated on the flight and wear sunscreen. If you have a short stay, tell us so we can plan the delivery method around your schedule.
What is the difference between stem cell therapy and exosomes?
Both are regenerative skin treatments. Stem cell products contain a broad mix of secreted factors, while exosome products focus on tiny vesicles released by cells. Evidence for both is still evolving and your doctor will suggest which suits your skin.
Are there side effects?
Typical effects are temporary redness, mild swelling, dryness or small pinpoint marks from microneedling, usually settling within a few days. Infection or allergic reaction is uncommon, which is why physician assessment matters.
How much does stem cell skin therapy cost?
Cost depends on the product, delivery method and number of sessions. Send us a message on WhatsApp for a personalised quote after a brief review of your goals.
