What RF microneedling treats
Potenza works in the dermis, where scarring, pore structure and collagen loss sit. Depth and energy are set per area, so the same session can treat thicker cheeks and thinner skin differently.
- Rolling and boxcar acne scars
- Enlarged pores on the cheeks and nose
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Early skin laxity along the lower face
- Fine lines and crepey skin
- Active oiliness linked to breakouts
If breakouts are still active, your doctor may first stabilise them with our acne treatment programme. For a broader skin plan, see skin rejuvenation.
How RF microneedling works
Potenza uses a tip of very fine needles that enter the skin to a programmed depth, typically between 0.5 and 3.5 mm. At that depth the needles release radiofrequency energy, which heats the surrounding tissue in tiny columns. The skin responds to this controlled injury by producing new collagen and elastin and by reorganising scar tissue.
Because most of the heat is delivered below the surface, the outer skin recovers quickly compared with fully ablative resurfacing. Results build over the following weeks as collagen remodels. The micro-channels also allow regenerative products such as exosomes or Rejuran to be applied straight after the session when your doctor recommends it.
Your treatment day
- Skin analysis Your doctor reviews your skin, often with Mark-Vu II imaging, and sets depth and energy for each zone.
- Numbing Topical anaesthetic cream is applied for 30–40 minutes in your private room.
- Potenza treatment The physician passes the handpiece across each area, adjusting settings for scars, pores or laxity. This usually takes 20–40 minutes.
- Calming care A soothing mask or regenerative serum is applied, and you leave with aftercare instructions.
Results timeline
Collagen remodelling is gradual, so the biggest changes appear weeks after each session.

RF Microneedling FAQ
Does RF microneedling hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first, so most people feel warmth and prickling rather than sharp pain. Bony areas such as the forehead and jawline can feel stronger. Your doctor can adjust settings if needed.
How many Potenza sessions will I need?
Most people need 3–4 sessions about four weeks apart for texture and pores. Deeper acne scars may need more. Your doctor will suggest a plan after assessing your skin.
Can I fly home after RF microneedling?
Yes, flying the next day is usually fine. Keep skin moisturised on the plane and use sunscreen on arrival. Some redness may still be visible for 1–3 days.
How long do results last?
Collagen built through treatment lasts well, though skin keeps ageing naturally. Many patients keep results with one maintenance session every 6–12 months. Scar improvement is generally long-lasting.
Is RF microneedling better than laser for acne scars?
Both work, and they are often combined. RF microneedling delivers heat deep with limited surface injury, which lowers pigment risk for many skin types. Ablative options such as AVIO may suit certain scars, and your doctor will advise.
What are the side effects?
Expect redness, swelling and small grid marks for a few days. Less commonly, there can be breakouts, temporary darkening or minor bruising. Serious complications are uncommon when settings are chosen by a physician.
How much does RF microneedling cost?
Cost depends on the area treated and the number of sessions. Send us a message on WhatsApp at +82 10 6463 5532 for a personalised quote.
