Quick answer

What does an obesity clinic do?

An obesity clinic provides medically supervised help with excess weight. A doctor assesses your health history, medications and body composition, then builds a plan that may include prescription weight-loss medicine, nutrition and activity guidance, and follow-up monitoring. Local treatments such as fat-dissolving injections or Body InMode refine stubborn areas but are not weight-loss treatments.

What our obesity clinic helps with

Medical weight management at DIORE Clinic, Gangnam, Seoul

Weight is influenced by appetite, metabolism, sleep, stress, medications and genetics. The right option depends on whether your goal is overall weight management or reshaping a specific area.

  • Excess weight affecting health or wellbeing
  • Strong appetite and frequent cravings
  • Weight regained after previous diets
  • Stubborn fat on the abdomen, flanks or arms
  • Double chin or jawline fullness
  • Loose skin and poor tone after weight change

How our obesity clinic works

There are two different kinds of help. Medical weight management uses prescription medicines such as Mounjaro (tirzepatide) or Wegovy (semaglutide), which act on appetite hormones and are used together with diet and physical activity. A doctor checks that a medicine is suitable, starts at a low dose, increases it gradually as prescribed and monitors side effects.

Local contouring targets shape rather than body weight. Fat-dissolving injections and body sculpting injections reduce small, stubborn fat pockets over several sessions, while Body InMode uses radiofrequency and muscle stimulation to address fat, skin laxity and tone. Many patients combine both approaches at different stages of their plan.

Your first visit

  1. Consultation A physician reviews your weight history, health conditions, current medications and goals in a private room.
  2. Body assessment Weight, measurements and body composition are recorded so progress can be tracked over time.
  3. Personalised plan The doctor explains which medical or local options suit you, including side effects and what to expect.
  4. Start and follow-up Treatment begins if suitable, and review visits or WhatsApp check-ins are arranged, including for visitors returning home.

What to expect over time

Progress is gradual and individual, and depends on the option chosen and lifestyle changes.

First weeks Appetite changes may be noticed on medicine
First months Gradual change, with doses reviewed by the doctor
After a course Local injections or InMode refine treated areas
Long term Healthy habits help maintain results

Obesity Clinic FAQ

Do I need a prescription for weight-loss injections in Korea?

Yes, GLP-1 medicines such as Mounjaro and Wegovy are prescription-only. A doctor assesses you first, and rules on prescribing and supply for international visitors are confirmed at your consultation.

Which weight-loss option is right for me?

It depends on your health, how much weight you want to manage and whether your goal is overall weight or a specific area. The doctor explains suitable options after assessing you.

Are fat-dissolving injections a way to lose weight?

No. They reduce small, stubborn fat pockets to improve shape, and are best for people close to their goal weight. Medicines and lifestyle change address overall weight.

What are the common side effects of GLP-1 medicines?

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation and reduced appetite are the most common, especially when the dose is increased. The doctor monitors these and adjusts your plan.

I am only in Seoul for a short visit. Can I still start?

Possibly, depending on your health, the treatment and prescription rules. Message us on WhatsApp before you travel so the doctor can advise on what is realistic and how follow-up would work.

Will I regain weight after stopping medicine?

Weight can return after stopping, particularly without lasting changes to eating and activity. Your doctor discusses a plan for maintenance before you stop.

How much does the obesity clinic programme cost?

Cost depends on the medicine or treatment and the length of your plan. Message us on WhatsApp for a personalised quote.
