How face slimming injections work
For jaw slimming, your physician asks you to clench, feels the bulk of the masseter and marks safe points away from the smile muscles. Small doses of botulinum toxin type A, such as Xeomin, are injected deep into the muscle. Over the following weeks the muscle is used less and becomes slimmer, so the jaw angle looks softer and the face narrower from the front.
For fat, an injectable fat-reduction formulation is placed in a grid of small injections into the fat layer. The treated fat cells are broken down and cleared by the body over several weeks. Because each session treats a limited amount, 2–4 sessions spaced 2–3 weeks apart are typical. Results depend on stable body weight, and these injections are not a substitute for medical weight management.
