What shoulder fillers treat
Shoulder fillers are a body contouring treatment that changes the outline of the upper shoulder. The aim is a smooth, natural curve that suits your frame.
- Steeply sloping shoulders
- Bony or angular shoulder tips
- Uneven left and right shoulder outline
- Hollow area above the collarbone
- Abrupt step from neck to shoulder
- Wish for a softer line in open-neck clothing
If bulky upper trapezius muscle is part of the concern, your doctor may suggest combining or replacing filler with botulinum toxin. For facial balance, see face contouring fillers.
How shoulder fillers work
Your physician assesses your posture, shoulder width and neck length while you sit upright, then marks the areas that need lift. A volumising filler suitable for body use is placed in the layer above the muscle with a blunt cannula through a small number of entry points. Cannula technique helps spread the product evenly and lowers the risk of bruising.
Because the shoulders are a larger area than the face, larger filler volumes are needed, which affects the overall cost. The filler is gradually broken down by the body, so results are temporary. When a hyaluronic acid product is used, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if the shape needs correcting.
Your treatment day
- Consultation and photos Your doctor reviews your goals, medical history and shoulder shape, and takes standardised photos.
- Marking and numbing The planned contour is marked while you sit upright, then numbing cream is applied in your private room.
- Injection Filler is placed through a few entry points with a cannula, checking symmetry from the front and back as it goes.
- Review and aftercare The doctor checks the result with you, gently moulds the area and explains aftercare before you leave.

Shoulder Fillers FAQ
Do shoulder fillers hurt?
Most patients describe pressure and mild discomfort. Numbing cream, lidocaine in the filler and a blunt cannula help keep the treatment comfortable.
How long do shoulder fillers last?
Results typically last around 12–18 months. Longevity depends on the product, the volume used, your metabolism and how active you are.
How much filler is needed for the shoulders?
Body areas need considerably more filler than the face, and the amount depends on your frame and goals. Your doctor will give a personalised volume estimate at consultation.
Can I fly home after shoulder fillers?
Most patients can fly within a day or two. Avoid carrying heavy shoulder bags through the airport and allow a few days in Seoul if you would like a follow-up check.
Shoulder fillers or trapezius Botox: which do I need?
Filler adds volume where the shoulder slopes steeply or looks bony. Botulinum toxin slims a bulky trapezius muscle. Some patients benefit from both, and your doctor will advise after examining you.
What are the side effects?
Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and settle within days. Less common risks include lumps, asymmetry, infection and vascular complications, which is why a physician performs every treatment. HA filler can be dissolved if needed.
How much do shoulder fillers cost?
Cost depends on the volume needed and the product chosen. Send photos to our coordinators on WhatsApp at +82 10 6463 5532 for a personalised quote.
